Flooring installation

Doing the job right the first time: flooring installation

If we have a motto at Rich Ranieri Inc., we want to see a job done right and see it done right the first time. We do warranty all of our installations, but if things we do well upfront, then there is no need to have to go back and repair anything. We are proud of our installers' professionalism and their skills and think you will be too, once you have seen them in action.

Preparing in advance

There are several things that you can do to prepare for your new flooring installation. The most important thing is that you remove any breakables or sentimental items from the work area. We would hate for something to be accidentally broken. The second thing you can do is keep the pathway to the work area clear of furniture or other items. Tools and flooring can be heavy and bulky, and again, we want to avoid any chance of an accident taking place. When the installers arrive, the crew chief will likely walk the job with you and tell you what the day will entail. Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have or make little requests that might influence how our installers approach the installation.

In most cases, our installers can move pieces of furniture out of the work area. If there are more massive furniture pieces, please let your sales associate know ahead of time to send adequate help. If you have a water-bed or aquarium in the room, please plan to drain them ahead of time to be safely moved. We know that sometimes it is difficult for furniture removal, and sometimes we can shift a piece from side to side, but when it comes to carpet installation, the emptier the room, the tighter a stretch our installers can get on your new rug.

In some cases, baseboards may need to come off for your flooring installation. In these cases, our installers will typically remove them and then replace them after the job is complete. When installing a hardwood floor, you may want to install new baseboards stained to match the flooring. Talk through those options with your sales associate.

Flooring prep and clean up

Preparing the subfloor tends to be a dusty task, but it is an essential aspect of quality flooring installation. While our installers will keep dust to the workspace as much as possible, there is no way to prevent some of it from drifting through the air and into other adjoining rooms. While our installers will clean up after the installation, be prepared to do some dusting in different spots, it is just one of the growing pains that go along with an install. After a carpet installation, our installers will do an initial vacuum over the flooring to pick up tufts and little bits of the rug and make the room look finished and ready for the return of your furniture.

Ultimately, our goal is your satisfaction. Our installers will do the job right, or we will fix it. Yet in 99.9% of the cases, our installers do the job right the first time, leaving you with a beautiful floor that will provide you with years of service.

At Rich Ranieri Inc., we have been in business a long time and a great deal of that is because our installers take pride in their work.
